85lb Hickory/Yew laminate Warbow
A medieval warbow in design and shape but aimed at beginners or for period displays. Pulling 85lb @ 30" with a maximum draw of 32". The length of this bow provides an element of safety for the newer archer but also makes the bow feel lighter to draw. The Yew used here is local wood, the quality is very high but occasionally staves like this one offer less dense heartwood. Therefore the stave was better suited for a laminate, although it retains the characteristics of a self Yew bow blending the sapwood into the Hickory backing.
The correct arrows should always be used and advice and guidance is available. New archers especially are kindly reminded that matching spine is not adequate for a warbow arrow, they must also be of sufficient weight. Arrows over 55 grams would be appropriate for this bow.
